Northwest’s Ryder Campbell – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Supplement World

By Blake Chadwick

Wichita Northwest’s Ryder Campbell is one of the biggest offensive threats at tight end and wide receiver in the state. He is coming off of a season where he had 31 receptions, 566 yards and five touchdowns.

Now as a senior, there is more work to be done.

“My personal goal is to have over 1000 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns, and help get us to the state championship,” Campbell said. “My team goals are to go undefeated in the regular season, win the city league again, and bring a state championship to Northwest, we have the talent and we are hungry to get a ring this year.”

Campbell has a unique blend of size, skill and athleticism that helps him and star senior quarterback Jaylen Mason almost unguardable at times.

On top of his on field contributions, Campbell has also developed his leadership skills as well

“I am going to help Northwest win a state championship by starting to lead the team now. In the weight room, at practice, and outside of football. Showing guys what needs to be done if we are serious about our goals.”

Campbell will also be able to continue his football career after his senior year. He has a handful of offers spanning across Division I and Division II that gives him a lot of good potential programs to choose from. But that doesn’t matter until he wins a state championship at Northwest.

“At Northwest we are more than teammates, our culture is a brotherhood,” Campbell said. “That’s what makes us stand out compared to other teams we take care of each other on and off the field.”
