For Southeast’s Eric Torres, nothing in the past year has topped his experience at Bowling Regionals. Saying, “I bowled the best I ever did and made state. It was very exciting for my team and me because no one had made state for bowling at my school in a long time.”
Although his favorite athletic memory comes from his time on the track team, Torres told VYPE he “made state with my 4×400 team” last year. “Making state was very exciting, but getting to compete was entirely different. Hundreds of people watching and cheering makes you wanna do it every year.”
Aside from his athletic endeavors, Torres has “participated at lords diner,” sharing with us that “its always a fun experience to help.”
When asked where he would like to go on his hypothetical dream vacation, Torres responded by saying, “I would go to Clearwater, Florida. A very beautiful place with beaches and many things to see, an underrated part of Florida. If I had to bring anyone, it would be my friends Jake and Griffin.”
Coincidently, it was also Jake, whom Eric named as the teammate who had the most significant impact on him.
Reporting to us that “he (Jake Beauchamp) has made state every year for track and cross country, he runs like its nothing and doesn’t stop. He is strong-minded and hard-working; he cares for his friends and family. Jake’s just a great person and a leader.”
As Torres navigates his senior year, he relayed to VYPE that his focus will be “making it to state again in the 4×400 for track.”
