Q&A with Wichita East’s Rayvelle Leaks – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Visit Wichita

VYPE had the chance to interview Wichita Easts Rayvelle Leaks to learn more about who he is.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

To be the best athlete I can be an supportive teammate and to stay on top of my senior classes and make my mother and father as proud as they can be.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Being with my guys on that field has been the most fun I’ve had , these guys and coach’s are my second family and I know I’ve made a bond with them and I can count on them for as how ever long I need.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Mrs Schroeder is my Favorite teacher , she has taught me to work hard on the field or any in sport i do but not only that but in the class room and she’s very strict but a good strict and she knows what it’s like being a student athlete balancing school work outs a job practice I am very thankful for her.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Meeting my Running back coach Henry Robinson him pushing and counting on me when I had doubt in my self him taking the time out of my is days to meet up with me and work and getting to know his family and kids was a blessing.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

I would say all of them if I could because they all have impacted me , but one who stands out and whom I’ve picked up a lot from and not just on the field is my guy LT Robinson not only is he a beast on the field he is a smart student and is a respectful person. 

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

The brotherhood.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

Miami Florida and I would take my family and that’s including my unc dmac and jr and etc , also my girlfriend.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

I would save it to spend it on getting me a car for my senior year of high school.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

Working on the food trunk at lunch’s  going to middle schools and talking to the kids.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I am gonna be getting back involved with the boys and girls club of south central Kansas , because that’s where I started that’s who gave me the spark.
