Wichita North athlete Luis Contreras-Figueroa told VYPE that his goal at the moment is to “finish high school strong and with good grades so I am able to have a good start coming into college”. Over the past year Figueroa has been putting in a lot of work both is school and on the field. His favorite part of it all has been “practicing with my teammates everyday getting to know the new players and making new bonds”.
Among those on the Wichita North Boys Soccer team is Gilbert Parga-Rodriguez who Figueroa says has left an impression on him sharing “He is one talented player that keeps the energy high winning or losing”.
Figueroa himself loves to go into overtime with his team saying “winning against some teams in overtime it’s the best feeling”. Situations like that are a favorite of his because as he shared it makes every move you make matter even more and it puts you in the position to make a real difference.
