Wichita Heights football player Tavion Johnson told VYPE “There’s nothing like being with the guys during the season” sharing that besides winning games the best part of being a Falcon is “All the fun and funny moments we have all throughout the season”.
So far Johnson has been working to “win the state championship” saying that accomplishing this would “mean the most for me”. On his way there Johnson has been putting in a lot of hard work alongside his teammates. Among his fellow Falcons is Terrick Johnson – his brother. Tavion expressed that “all my time in high school he’s been there working out with me helping me become the player I am now. It was great to be able to work with him all these years”.
A specific moment from his high school career that has remained at the forefront of Johnson’s mind is “Scoring the go-ahead TD in the Garden City game which won it for us”. “That moment was electric” said Johnson.
Outside of his athletic endeavors, Johnson participates in BAASE – a Wichita Public School initiative that aims to “increase the number of males in WPS who are college and career ready and prepared to compete for academic scholarships” according to the Office of Equity, Diversity & Accountability.
