
Wichita Southeast wrestler Alivia Wilson recently told VYPE about her life.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for the year is to make it through graduation, achieve balance with everything in my life and to also get around to more traveling this year as much as I can.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is placing at state last year even though at the time it wasn’t really a big thing to me during the moment.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I am not currently involved in any community service protect but in the future I would definitely like to start being more involved with the things that I can be beneficial towards.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
’m not involved in any clubs or campus groups. I like to be more to myself, those things don’t really interest me at school or outside of school but it’s really right now that I feel that way. There’s no telling how I would feel in the future.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Wrestling has taught me personal responsibility and discipline. It helps me be more accountable for myself and to not make so many excuses when I’m the one responsible to either change it, deal with it or make it better. It has also taught me mental toughness.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice that anyone has given me is to just do what would make me happy. You should not do anything you aren’t comfortable with to make another person happy. You have to Make sure you’re doing what’s best for you even if others don’t like it. Always prioritize yourself.
