Wichita Heights baseball player Taylor Blaine spoke to VYPE in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goal for the year is to go to college on a baseball scholarship.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is throwing up off the mound while pitching in the first inning and continuing to throw the rest of the game.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

I think Brady Boomsma just because of the competition he brings when you’re pitching against him.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of the team is how close we all are since half of us have played all 4 years together.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Baseball has taught me that success is not solely based on the outcome.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice I’ve ever been given is Thinking down on yourself has NEVER lead to anything positive.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Coach Fensky inspires me cause he has always had faith in my skills to play the game even when I I didn’t have faith in myself.
