Wichita East’s Trinity Perry – Soccer Spotlight – Sponsored by The Tire Store

By Ken Hansard

The Wichita East High women’s soccer team finished their season recently with a tough loss in the 6A Regional final.  Trinity Perry, a senior graduate and midfielder / forward for the Aces women’s soccer team, looks back on her season and career with no regrets.  When asked about her role with the team, she replied, “A team captain.”

Perry has served as the Aces captain for the past two seasons, “It is very rewarding to be able to support and lead such a great group of girls and watch them grow as individuals.”  When asked about what kind of goals she had entering the season, Perry responded,  “I was really looking forward to creating better bonds with my teammates and coaches and making it to the next level.”

The next level, and another goal of Perry and her teammates, was to move past the regional championship game that had tripped them up the previous season.  The Aces finished with a sold 10-8 record, but unfortunately fell just short of that goal.  Still, Perry seems to be at peace, and had this to say about her final season of high school sports, “This season was honestly very surreal. Our team had a greater bond than the teams in the past years. After some devastating losses, we worked to win the next game and put all our effort into it.”

Trinity’s plans are to continue her athletic and academic pursuits at Newman University, where she will study elementary education with a minor in psychology.
