Wichita Southeast’s Loyd Mwangi was an all-league outfielder last season, but he’s not done growing to be the best athlete he can be just yet.
“I’m most excited about being able to improve my game while having the chance to play the sport I love,” Mwangi said.
Over the offseason, Mwangi spent time training for the spring season ahead.
“I have done a lot of BP and catching and throwing bull pins,” Mwangi said.
On top of helping lead his team to a state championship title, Mwangi also has some personal goals he’s hoping he gets to cross off his list.
“One of my biggest goals this season is to be able to have a batting average of 300,” Mwangi said.
After high school, Mwangi hopes to further his baseball career at the next level, but is still unsure as to where that will be.
“I would like to play baseball in college, but I’m picky as to where,” Mwangi said.
