Wichita West basketball player Gavyn Philips told VYPE in a recent interview “My personal goal this year is to be a leader not just in sports but be a leader for those around me”. Of his team he said “My favorite part about being on this team is how hard my teammates work to push each other to be better and the energy they bring when it’s time”.
“The teammate that’s left the biggest impression on me is Rob Basks because he’s a great player and competes at practices to make not just me better but our other teammates as well. We’ve played with each other since we were kids” said Philips.
And of all his time with the Pioneers his “favorite athletic memory is playing and winning the Nationals tournament”.
