VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goal for my self this year is to push myself to get straight A’s and go to place top 3 at state wrestling.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I have had in the last year was with my football family on our, sometimes 2-3 hour long drives when we had out-of-town games. We had a lot of fun on the way out there; we would keep each others heads in the game while still having fun.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher from any grade would have to be my titan time teacher from my senior year, Coach Wells. He is also the head football coach at south high school. He helped me make sure my grades were up to par and helped shape me into the athlete I am today.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is from my senior year of football when we played against our biggest rivals, west high school, at the new baseball field here in Wichita, most years it is a hard-fought battle to see who would win the trophy, and this year was no different it was a fight until the very last play, and I think it was even more memorable because it was my senior year.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate who left the biggest impression on me was my good friend Carlos Sosa a former lineman as well, and he graduated last year, and he helped me guide me through my freshman to junior years of high school football.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being a Wichita south titan is the atmosphere. We really are a family; we look out for each other on and off the field, and we help each other when someone needs help. Playing a sport doesn’t mean just playing the sport; it’s forging friendships that will last a lifetime.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could pick a place for a summer vacation, I would go to San Diego, and I would bring my family, both family I’m related to by blood and the ones I’ve built relationships with.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I had 500 dollars to spend in 24 hours, I’d buy all the linemen on the team new cleats, and take my grandparents out to dinner because they have been a huge influence on who I am today more than I could ever say.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I do not participate in community service anymore, but when I was in ROTC, I would volunteer at the old cow town to help give tours to elementary kids.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I am not involved in any more clubs ever since the O.W.L.S club got disbanded, it was a wilderness club, and we would take care of our courtyard, but sadly no one joined it, so they had to clear out the courtyard.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
