
VYPE chatted with Wichita Wests Israel Cervantes to learn more about him.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals for the year is to be in state for jav and get my airframe license.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Playing football with my teammates.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher is Mrs. Taylor, she has helped me with a lot, especially during covid-19 when we had to take online classes.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is when my coach told me I was able to play varsity as long I kept on practicing hard.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
A teammate that left the biggest impression on me is Mencail. Mencail always wanted to improve himself in any way he can.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team is we all care for each other, we may be a small team but we always have a good time with one another.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could go anywhere I would go to Colorado and I would take my family because my family means everything to me they have helped me with school and sports, etc.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
If I got $500 I would spend it on a new smoker so my family and I could have a cookout every weekend.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I was a part of River Fest, I got to represent West but I had a great time, and got to spend my time with a lot of new friends. I definitely would do it again.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I was involved with student leadership, the student advisory council, and HALO. The reason I was so involved with my school is I always wanted to make an impact and change the culture in my school.
VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?
