Senior Aly Lawrence, a softball player at Northwest, was an honorable-mention middle infielder last season for the Grizzlies and is in line for at least that distinction this season.
Lawrence is appreciative that all her hard work has paid off.
“It means a lot to me to be the one chosen for this magazine,” Lawrence said. “I’ve worked hard all four years for my talent to be noticed and this opportunity is something I am grateful for.”
While a winning record is exciting, sometimes the high-energy games are the ones that impact athletes the most. For Lawrence, one game made her entire season worth it.
“The most memorable moment from this season was without a doubt beating Bishop Carroll, it was the highlight of my senior season for sure,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence had goals for herself and the team this year, and one of the greatest achievements she is proud to cross off is leading the Grizzlies to the best of her abilities.
“One of the biggest focuses was having good leadership my senior year and showing my younger teammates how to have pride in playing for Northwest,” Lawrence said. “Another big goal of mine was to not strike out at all during the regular season and I am proud I was able to accomplish these two things.”
Planning to further her education and athletics, you’ll still find Lawrence on a softball field.
“I will be going to Barton Community College to continue playing softball and major in Sonography,” Lawrence said.
