VYPE interviewed basketball player Mason Le to discuss who he is as a person and athlete.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goal for the year was to improve every game. I felt like if I would improve every game, then the team would follow and improve with me.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I had in the last year was going to practice or workouts every day and getting to know my teammates.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher was my eighth-grade math teacher Mr. Schrag. He was a very cool teacher. He let us be free in the classroom and wasn’t always on us. Me and him also shared a lot of common interests.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory was going out of town with my AAU team and hanging out in hotels, and trying new things in different states.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that left the biggest impression on me was Asa Barnes. He pushed and motivated me to be better every day, and he made me feel more confident in myself every game.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on this team was the fun moments we would have as a team. There was never a dull moment in practice or team outings.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
If I could go anywhere for vacation, I would go to Japan with my family. Japan seems like a cool place, and the food there would be great.
VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would spend the $500 on some clothes and shoes. The wardrobe can always improve, and the new money would give me an excuse to get clothes I normally wouldn’t get.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I am involved in Gear Up. Gear Up helps me out with questions I have about college and gave me the opportunity to get college credits as a high school student.
